I know this is not "quite" electro, but with all this fuss...
I think Gotye is great and all, but honestly I feel like he has more to his repertoire than the HUGE smash "Someone I used to know" This one is the first one I heard by him, and it blew me away. Hope you enjoy it too!

My Moheak.com radio show yesterday
So it was all about the "Grimy Glam, Punk Funk and Rocking Electronic" yesterday on Moheak.com
There is now a Moheak APP so you can stream from your mobile phone.
This was my Sunday playlist of mostly new tunes by mostly local LA bands:
1. The Future - Beatnik Jr
2. Rosebud was the name of his sled - Baron Von Luxxury
3. Bang Bang - Mark Ronson featurin MNDR and Q-Tip
4. Distractions - Orbital
5. Staircase (From The Basement) - Radiohead
6. Babble On - Piel
7. Think You're Alive - Adamandevil
8. Repeat To Fade - James Cook with Nemo www.jamescookmusic.com
9. Come On Up - Red Light District
10. Erase The Pain - That Noise
11. Dolphins Were Monkeys - Ian Brown
And once again, thank you to TK/Bruce and Darren for running the best indie radio on the planet! I am looking froward to doing it again!

I am not supposed to like something so poppy, but.....
If you ignore the nonsense at the beginning and let the song unfold, it is pretty awesome actually...... Why is she so bad nowadays?

This is an old one, but I miss it, so here you go
You cannot dance to this, unless you have goth hair and can't dance....
See South Park for details!

Modeselektor feat Thom Yorke
I guess it isn't bad. Do you think Thom Yorke has the cornered the market on creepy vampire music......
Some Band Great that's gone!
I kinda wish they had not sped the thing up.... BUT still a magnificent piece.
LCD sorely missed. :(
I LOVE Chk Chk Chk
"Call the Christians, tell them all that I'm taller than Jesus
They tore down the parking lot and put in a parking lot and what do they got?"
Who can resist those lyrics?
I saw these guys when we played with them on tour with Whitey.
BEST ROCK SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN

And another Daisy O collaboration
And the cover we did of Flock OF Seagulls "Wishing I had a photograph of you" :
Daisy O'Dell v The Singularity Remix of "Rosebud"
OK, so a little more navel gazing! Here is the remix that I did with Daisy O'Dell of the M.I.D.S. of "Rosebud" by Baron Von Luxxury.
Enjoy!
And this is a magnificent remix of Light FM (who we played with for Moheak Radio the other day at Los Globos. They were excellent)
The band has toured with The Smashing Pumpkins and Jesus and Mary Chain. Their performance was pretty flawless. Keyboards are obviously a joy to me, so the rock sound was offset just enough for it to be a pleasure to add to our group and lead singer Josiah was such a sweetheart, he agreed to share this remix with us. It is so far removed from the original, but revisits the heart of the tune to a beautiful extent. Leaves the exuberance intact!
We love Light FM! Let's play some more shows together.
OK, so this is one of ours, but please forgive the indulgence.
Here is "Say What You Want" as featured in the MTV show: "The City"
The first track comes in from Beatnik Jr! The Future
I have seen Beatnik Jr so many times over the last 5 years, and I think they are one of LA's best kept secrets. This is a fine example of their inimitable punk funk with an emphasis on the FUNk.
Until I can work out how to embed Blogger with the actual links, I will keep this short...
Go see them and I will be there!

Tonight at the Echo!
I recently had the honour of remixing a song by Baron Von Luxxury - Rosebud with Daisy O'Dell of the M.I.D.S so tonight we are going to the Echo to check out the experience of seeing them perform in their respective bands. I will report!
This is Baron von L's original version of the song. Fabulous stuff!

BABBLE ON by piEL
And this is another group from Los Angeles who have what it takes! Check out the fabulous Piel!
I feel like I must burst out of my box
There are so many great tunes and bands that I love, and have the honour of working with. I think it is time to let those tunes and people get some kind of recognition. I am also inherently losing the will to write. This means that I am very rarely THINKING.
This blog will be the day by day publishing of music I love and links that you should know about. Here is my first..... If you don't know this band, it is understandable as they split in 2006. They needed to be around longer, but they weren't. Enjoy this one! Then shed a tear for their absence.
